Durin's Story

Hey there, my name is Durin. I'm a stoic and handsome Aussie who would love to find my new home. The perfect home for me would be one that is calmer and with people who love to spend a lot of time with their dog friend. I am not overly demanding and don't need tons of exercise, but I do appreciate going for a walk. It doesn't even have to be a long one! I'm a nervous boy at first, so I need time to warm up to new people, but once I know you, I'm more than happy to lounge in your lap (or even just next to you). Because of my nervousness, I would not be the ideal candidate to live with kids, but if you are an adult looking for your new bestie, I might be the one for you.

Copper Country Humane Society's Adoption Policy

*You must fill out our adoption application found on our website at www.cchumanesociety.com or in person at the shelter. *We DO NOT transfer dogs to other shelters or transport for the purpose of adoption. You must be willing and able to come to CCHS to meet the animal you are interested in adopting. *You must live within 350 miles of CCHS in order to adopt from our shelter. It's extremely difficult to get an animal back if things don't work out and want to make sure you are close enough that arrangements can be made (but hopefully not needed).

The Copper Country Humane Society (CCHS) is a non-profit (501c3) organization that is dedicated to the welfare and humane treatment of animals. 100% of the money needed for vet care, spay/neuter and medical needs for the 900 animals CCHS cares for annually is raised through monthly fundraising events and private donations....
