Dune's Story

Meet Dune: A Sweet and Playful Pup Looking for a Forever Home!

At just 6 months old and 45lbs, Dune is a shepherd/cattle dog mix who has come a long way in a short time. Dune and his brother and sister were found abandoned in the desert, where a rescuer safely captured them and brought them to safety. Dog Coalition LA partnered with the rescuer to place the puppies in foster homes, giving Dune the chance to grow up in a safe and loving environment.

In foster care, Dune is proving to be a very good boy with plenty of puppy personality. He loves other dogs and is happiest when he has a canine buddy to play with, though he can be sensitive around people and is still building his confidence. The good news is that he is getting braver by the day! Dune feels very safe in his crate, enjoys chewing on a bone, and absolutely loves to play. He can also settle nicely and be a great work-from-home buddy. He is also doing well with potty training and is learning to walk nicely on leash.

Dune would likely do best in a home with another friendly, confident dog who can show him the ropes and help him feel comfortable in his new world. He loves to play, but he also has a nice ability to settle when it's time to relax. With his sweet nature, growing confidence, and goofy habit of lounging upside down, Dune has all the makings of a wonderful companion for someone willing to give him the time and patience he needs to continue blossoming.

What You Should Know About Dune:

- sweet 6-month-old, 45lb pup looking for a forever family who will help him continue building confidence

- expected to be around 60lbs fully grown

- playful, sensitive, and curious, with a special love for other dogs and upside-down lounging

- might be a great match for someone looking for a fun puppy companion and who has a friendly, confident resident dog to help show him the ropes

To meet Dune, please fill out an adoption form on dogcoalitionla.org/adopt and follow @dogcoaltionla for updates!
