Duncan's Story

Duncan is a very happy go lucky boy that is ready for a forever home. He is a 1 year old Shepherd puppy that has had a rough start, but has shown to be so resilient - a true underdog comeback story. Duncan was rescued from being abandoned on the streets, and found to be heartworm positive in a local shelter. Duncan has completed heartworm treatment in a foster home and has learned what it’s like to be loved. He can be shy to warm up at first, but quickly welcomes new people once he realizes how much they immediately adore him. He may prefer women to men. He loves his tough chew toys like a Nylabone or Benebone and settles well with them. He is house and crate trained, and walks well on a leash. He has adjusted well to being in a crate during a normal 8 hour work day. Duncan does well with other non-reactive/easy-going dogs, but may not be a good fit for dogs with a pushy/dominant personality. He will play with the right doggie friends. He is also said to be cat friendly. He is an active/energetic puppy, but needs to take it easy a little longer after heartworm treatment - his foster can discuss this more. Duncan is a young guy who is ready for an incredible future.
