Duncan

Duncan is a sweet 4.5 year old, energetic boy looking for a single alpha female to be his pack leader. He is not a fan of men, children, or busy environments. He does have a history of biting both a child and an adult, however, shortly after arriving in his foster home, he proved to be amenable to being a member of the pack when there was a stronger leader. His two weeks in his foster home have shown that he is the sweetest boy and instead of needing a muzzle is happy to give kisses on the nose. <br/><br/><br/><br/>Once you have established that you are the pack leader, Duncan will be your biggest protector. Like most of dachshunds, he will bark at anyone on the sidewalk near your place. Friends coming to visit need to be introduced quietly so that he can learn they are not a threat to you or him. He has been thriving in the quiet home of a single female who works from home.<br/><br/><br/><br/>At the same time, Duncan needs someone who has lots of energy for long walks and throwing balls for him to chase. He also loves swimming and fetching sticks in the water during the warmer months. He is used to wearing a harness and just needs someone at the other end of the leash who has the confidence to demand obedience.<br/><br/><br/><br/>Duncan is a Velcro hound who will follow you to the bathroom and if you are in bed or on the couch, he will be touching you. He is used to sleeping in bed with you and his preferred position is parallel to your side or back.
