Dulcie's Story

Dulcie is a 7-year-old retired breeding dog who is finally getting her chance to experience what it means to be a loved family pet. Weighing just 10.4 pounds, this sweet little girl has so much love to give—she just hasn't quite figured out how to show it yet.

Dulcie is shy and gentle. She enjoys attention from people, but you can tell she's still learning that it's okay to ask for affection. She wants to be loved; she just needs someone to show her how wonderful life as a cherished companion can be.

Because Dulcie has spent her life as a breeding dog, she hasn't had the same experiences as a typical family pet. She will need a patient, understanding family willing to help her build confidence and continue working on potty training. We truly believe that with a little time, kindness, and nurturing, Dulcie will blossom into a wonderful little companion.

Before leaving the shelter, Dulcie will be spayed and receive a dental cleaning so she can start her new chapter happy and healthy.

Dulcie doesn't need a perfect home. She just needs a loving one where she can learn that she's more than a breeding dog—she's family.
