Dulce's Story

Hi! My name is Dulce I am looking for a forever home. Me & a few of my friends were rescued from a pretty bad situation where we lived outside all of the time in a small pen and we were all pretty emaciated and missing most of our hair. Our initial foster home spent a lot of time doctoring us and giving us lots of good food so now we look really good. She then reached out to BCAA to see if they could help us all find good homes and they said yes ... yeah! I appear to be possibly a rottie-hound mix but no one knows for sure as while I weigh a little over 46lbs at around 2 years old, I have short legs so don't look real big when you meet me. I now have a beautiful black and tan coat which is really thick and has grown back beautifully. When I first meet new people or go into new situations, I am shy; however, with the 3 T's (time, TLC and treats) I start coming out of my shell and learning I can trust, then I love getting attention and am a "leaner". I enjoy playing with the other dogs and haven't paid much attention to the cats I've encountered. I have done really well in my crate without any accidents, barking or tearing up of my bed. I'm starting to get the leash thing down as I have figured out it means I can be out with you and going on an adventure but some additional training wouldn't hurt. And talking about training, I really, really love my food and treats which you can use to help me learn new stuff. If you would like to meet me, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org.
