Duke 's Story

Duke is 5-7 years old and wants nothing more than to get out of boarding and finally have a home of his own. He's been in boarding for two years.

Duke is very affectionate. He is dedicated to his owner and loves being near his people. He knows basic commands and is very social with people. He does well with dogs of his own size, once he knows them. He will sit and wait to be fed and will wait for the command to eat. He is house and crate trained, neutered, up to date on all vaccines and preventatives. He does pull some on a leash but lacking sufficient outings so this is likely to improve.
Duke has a high prey drive and therefore does not do well with tiny dogs, wildlife, cars, chickens, or goats. Like my grandpa, and some other folks I know, he also struggles with resource guarding his belongings. However, in his two years in boarding, he hasn't bitten anyone because they know yo leave him alone when he's eating or playing with his toys.

He does well riding crated in a vehicle but doesn't do well tethered.
