Duke's Story

This handsome, well-trained and behaved boy is named Duke, and he may just be the adult dog you've been looking for. He is in Jacksonville, FL, waiting for his forever home, loving home.

His trainer describes him as "the perfect dog. He is calm and has a stable temperament. He is very friendly in public, and focuses on his handler because he knows who is important." He is amazing with commands, leash walking and his crate. His trainer says he would make a fantastic working dog since he is very smart! He is very confident, and enjoys a good play date. He gets very silly when he is ready to play. Duke is good with other people walking their dogs on his dog walks, and he is very happy and friendly Duke is very sweet, and is a cuddler. Although very sweet, Duke would be best as the only dog in the home because he likes to play hard.
His trainer feels that Duke is meant to "work" all day, and would be a good service dog because of his build and energy level. He is a quick learner, and responds really well to positive reinforcement.

Personality – playful, skilled in commands, likes people, likes attention, happy, energetic, sits for treats, loves to play, friendly and sweet

If you are interested in learning more, please email: kjargaard@aol.com

*** Please note: We do not always know the exact breed or full-grown adult size of our rescues and create their listings with the information we have.**
Visit us at www.arf-aruba.com to learn more about our organization, see some heart-warming adoption stories, or learn how you can help. ARF-Aruba Inc.'s Adoption Policy
If you’d like to adopt a dog or cat from Aruba, it is not difficult. Many tourists befriend a dog or cat on the beach and would like to provide a loving home for the animal. ARF-Aruba can help make this process an easy one. Other animal loving tourists who would like to provide a home to a puppy or kitten are encouraged to contact us as well. There are always pups and kittens available for adoption in Aruba. While on the Island, visitors can contact ARF-Aruba for information or assistance. The dog or cat will need to be evaluated by an Aruba veterinarian to make sure the animal is healthy enough to travel. If it is healthy, it will be given the appropriate vaccinations and the veterinarian will then provide a health certificate to allow the animal to be transported to another country. There is no rabies on the Island of Aruba so there is no quarantine period when taking

Duke is from ARF-Aruba Inc.
