Duke's Story

Meet Duke!
Duke is a 14-month-old Auggie (Australian Shepherd/Corgi mix) who's the perfect blend of brains, energy, and loyalty. This handsome neutered boy is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped.

Duke is a bundle of energy who's always on the go and happiest when he's by your side. He is always in turbo mode, he will chase and retrieve anything you throw, and is always eager to "help" with whatever you're doing. He is potty trained, good on a leash, and loves car rides.

Because Duke thrives on companionship, he needs a home where someone is home most of the time-he will not do well being left alone for long hours. An active household is a must for this busy boy! A home with another playful dog would be ideal, as he loves canine company and gets along great with dogs of all sizes, as well as cats.

Duke came from a home with kids, but because he's a herding breed, he'd do best with older children. He's also good with horses and doesn't chase them.

This smart, loyal, and energetic pup needs plenty of physical and mental exercise and isn't suited for a sedentary lifestyle. He'll thrive in a home with a large fenced yard and an active person or family who can keep him busy and included. After an activity filled day, he loves to cuddle up next to his person.

Duke is being fostered in St. Clair, Missouri
Duke's Adoption fee: $325
Apply at: istodaymydayrescue.org

Is Today My Day Rescue's Adoption Policy
Visit our website at istodaymydayrescue.org and fill out an adoption application! The adoption team for the dog you are interested in will review your application and complete a vet check to be sure all current animals are up to date on vaccinations and preventative care. A member of the adoption team will contact you via email or phone to discuss your application and evaluate if the dog will be a good fit for your home. You can expect to hear from a member of that dog’s adoption team within 48 hours. If your application is approved, a meeting/home visit will be arranged so you can see how the dog will fit into your current lifestyle. If the meeting goes well, the adoption contract and any other paperwork will be completed, the adoption fee will be paid, and they are ready to go home! We want to make this easy and we want to be sure that the dog you are interested in is a fit for you. Finding a dog or pup that works with your schedule and lifestyle is key to our placement. The questions on our application help us determine if the dog you choose will do well in your home. The number of hours your dog is home alone, fenced yard, exercise plan, other family members – pets included; these are important things we want to discuss with you and your chosen canine. Each dog’s needs vary based on breed, age, personality, health, and a number of other factors, so there are no right or wrong answers. We do require a vet reference as a routine part of our application screening.
