Duke's Story

Meet Duke — an almost nine-year-old, 20-pound salt-and-pepper Miniature Schnauzer looking for the right place to call home. Due to changes in his owner’s living situation, Duke is being lovingly rehomed. This is not a decision made lightly — his family wants to ensure he finds a home where he can truly thrive. Duke is neutered, house-trained, and walks nicely on a leash. He’s a smart, confident little guy with a strong personality — very true to his terrier roots! Small children make him nervous and anxious, so he needs a calm, quiet, adult-only home where he can feel secure. He would do best as the only dog, as he can be possessive of his food and toys. Cats? Definitely not his thing — he will chase them. Yes… he is a terrier! Duke is groomed at home and does well at vet visits. He’s an alpha boy who will need an experienced dog owner — someone who can provide clear leadership, structure, and consistency so he understands the rules and feels confident in his environment. In the right home, Duke will be a loyal, devoted companion who bonds deeply with his person. If you’re experienced, patient, and looking for a strong-willed little gentleman to share your life with, Duke just might be your guy.
