Welcome Duke! This handsome guy is around three years old and weighs in at an impressive 90-100 pounds (give or take a meal!). He’s a big guy, with a big goofy heart.

Duke is house trained! He sleeps through the night and keeps his crate clean. He’s working on coming up with a signal, but Foster Mom says you’ll know when he’s gotta go! As far as crate training goes, Duke is getting there. He still insists on being the life of the party, but is slowly learning his crate can be his safe place. This smart boy knows sit, stay, and lay down.

Duke has been around dogs and has does so great with them! He sometimes is initially shy but gets over it quick and enjoys to play. He’s always up for a game of chase at the dog park with his newly found pals! As far as cats go, Duke would need to be in a home without cats. He is, unfortunately, far too interested in them.

Our gentle giant has met kids! He does well with them, giving them lots of patience and waiting for pets. He is very confident around people, even new friends, and loves giving kisses! He is happy to snuggle with his person, but understands needing space sometimes.

For a big guy, Duke is happy to entertain himself. He’s got your typical big dog energy, but going on daily two mile walks, and that coupled with playing with his toys is enough to tucker him out for the day.

We typically adopt to homes within 30 minutes of Athens, GA, as we require a basic home check to ensure all dogs are placed in a safe environment. If you are further away than that and are interested in one of our pups, please still fill out an application and we can discuss your options.
