DUKE's Story
Meet (Sir) DUKE, a dog who is nothing short of amazing. DUKE was found on the Conotton Trail last week between Jewett and Scio wearing a slip lead but no collar. He hopped right into the vehicle that stopped for him as if hed just called for an Uber and headed to the Harrison County Dog Pound in Cadiz, OH, where hes been waiting patiently for his family to come for him. But they never did. Thats harder than usual to understand because someone clearly invested a lot of time in this boy. DUKE knows several commands, walks like a perfect gentleman on a leash, and has manners that would make any dog owner proud (though on occasion, DUKE will jump on you to greet you). Hes also convinced he has a future in Major League Baseball. DUKE absolutely loves playing ball. Throw it, and hes off like a rocket. Even better, he brings it right back and places it into your hand. Occasionally, hell drop it at your feet, but if you tell him to pick it up and give it to you, hell happily comply. When hes ready for that seventh inning stretch, hell walk away and take the ball with him. Then, when hes ready for the next inning, hell bring the ball back to you letting you know the game is back on. Despite being a big boy, DUKE is gentle and affectionate. Hes generally too busy focusing on his people and his tennis ball to pay much attention to the other dogs, but he doesnt seem to mind when they come by his kennel. His favorite way to greet people is with a big smile, a little enthusiasm, and sometimes a giant wet kiss. Not only is DUKE strikingly handsome, hes sweet and eager to please. If youre a GSD lover, especially a fan of black GSDs, prepare to fall head over heels for DUKE. One fair warning: as a GSD, DUKE takes shedding very seriously. If dog hair isnt your thing, you may be better off browsing Amazon for a stuffed animal. GSD experience preferred and a good veterinary reference required.

Harrison County Dog Pound. 82900 Toot Rd. Cadiz, OH 43950.
