Dug's Story
Maggie and her puppy, Dug, didn't come to us under easy circumstances. The two were found living in and around an abandoned trailer, doing their best to survive on their own. It took several days of a kind-hearted individual showing up, offering food, and slowly earning their trust before they could be safely brought in. Despite their rough start, it quickly became clear-both Maggie and Dug have incredibly loving hearts.

Dug is everything you'd hope for in a young pup. At around 5 months old, this Lab mix is at that perfect age where curiosity, playfulness, and eagerness to learn all come together. He's a happy, affectionate boy who is ready to take on the world with his future family by his side. Dug is smart, people-oriented, and would likely thrive in a variety of home environments-as long as his adopters are prepared for all that comes with raising a puppy.

And that's no small task. Puppies like Dug require consistent training, structure, and patience. He'll need help learning basic obedience, house training, leash walking, and appropriate manners. Socialization will be key-introducing him to new people, environments, sounds, and experiences in a positive way will help him grow into a confident, well-rounded adult dog. He'll also need plenty of mental stimulation, exercise, and outlets for his energy (and yes, probably a few things he's not supposed to chew along the way). The effort you put in now will shape the dog he becomes-and Dug is more than worth it.

Maggie and Dug do not necessarily need to be adopted together, but they both deserve homes that will meet them where they are-whether that's guiding a young puppy through life's lessons or helping a shy adult dog discover what it means to feel safe and loved.

Two very different journeys, but both leading to the same hope: a forever home.
