Everyone, meet Duffy.<br/><br/>Duffy is an estimated 18 year old dachshund who recently lost her lifelong owner very suddenly. Her whole world changed overnight. She had been with him for years, and when he was gone, she didn’t understand why. For three days straight she cried confused, grieving, and completely heartbroken.<br/><br/>Duffy recently had a full medical assessment. For a senior lady her age, her bloodwork looks good and stable. She does have a significant oral infection that is painful and has quite the odor, and we are addressing that so she can be comfortable. At this stage in her life, our priority is simple: comfort, dignity, and quality of life. She is scheduled for her dental surgery tomorrow. <br/><br/>She also requires a specific diet to help manage her weight and keep her feeling her best.<br/><br/>And here’s the part that makes us happy.. she has truly turned a corner. Once she realized she was safe, the crying stopped. Now? She’s sweet, happy, playful, and soaking up attention like she’s been doing it her whole life. This little lady still has spunk and spark. She absolutely has life left to live.<br/><br/>Senior dogs deserve soft landings too.
