Dudley's Story

Meet Dudley!

Dudley is an adorable cocker spaniel mix, approximately 8-9 years old, with a heart as big as his curly coat. He didn’t have the best start in life, but he’s doing so much better now and is ready to find a home where he can feel safe, loved, and understood.

Dudley is a happy, playful boy who can live with other dogs and cats. In his foster home, he enjoys playing tug-of-war and running around the house with his dog friends. He’s also fine with cats, as long as they’re tolerant of a dog who may try to engage them in play. Because of his super curly hair, Dudley will need regular grooming to prevent matting—this is an important part of keeping him comfortable and healthy.

Dudley does have a heart condition that requires medication twice a day and routine veterinary monitoring. If he plays too hard, he may cough, but this resolves once he settles down. He previously tested positive for Lyme disease and has successfully completed treatment. Dudley also has mild dental disease and is not a candidate for anesthesia, so his dental health will need to be managed conservatively. All of these issues will need follow through with regular vet care.

He’s not highly food motivated, but he does enjoy a good treat now and then. Dudley is still working on house training and does best when kept on a consistent schedule. He’s happy to wear clothes (as evidenced by his willingness to model sweaters), would love to sleep in bed with you, and while cuddling isn’t high on his list, he does enjoy being close. He can manage steps to a bed if they’re provided.
Dudley is looking for a committed, understanding home that will partner with a veterinarian to manage his medical needs and enjoy his gentle, playful companionship. If Dudley sounds like the dog who could fit into your life, apply to adopt him and start building a future together.

Adoption application can be found at this link- https://airtable.com/shrAznkHf1ruIqQwq
