Dude C 26002's Story
Dude will remain in the Recovery Room until cleared for adoption.

Dude was surrendered because his prior owners could not afford his care. He needs TPLO surgery (to repair a ruptured ligament) on his rear left leg. The right rear leg needs monitoring. We have been told Dude has shallow shoulder pockets and cannot be lifted from under his front arms.

Dude is a very sweet and easy to care for dog. He knows sit, high five, wait/ go buddy [for his food], gentle for treats. He wants to be with his people and chill or follow them around. Some separation anxiety. He loves to lick too, if you tell him to stop licking you, he will lick the air and the walls - his bone and toys help. He loves to spend time with his foster brother. See their cuddling photos.

Dude is potty trained, and crate trained, but would love to sleep in your bed. He stays home with my other senior dog all day when we are in the office. Dude is very food motivated. He is good up and down stairs on his own. He loves his walks (only 7-15min max). He takes pain medications occasionally. He can jump on and off the couch, although he has his little steps and uses it sometimes. He does need help getting in bed, he can only be picked up from his belly and supported on his bottom.

Dude is a very sweet little dog who is going to make some lucky family a loving companion. He is extremely sweet, lovable and funny - and anyone would be lucky to have him! Dude really should have a fenced yard without a lot of stairs going out to the yard due to leg issues and another little dog for him to spend time with.

More on Dude after his vet exam.
