Ducky's Story
Ducky is a tiny bit mighty little guy. He has all the traits true Chihuahua lovers know and appreciate. Although the shelter estimated him to be around 7 years we believe he may be a bit younger based on his energy and engagement. He was found as a stray and brought into the shelter severely emaciated and that’s when we stepped in for him. He is now a healthy weight and ready for his forever family.

Ducky takes his job as “personal companion” very seriously. Once he chooses you, he’s devoted, affectionate, and happiest when he can be near you. Whether that is sitting next to you on the sofa, under your feet at dinner or snuggled under the covers in your bed at night.

He has typical Chihuahua energy and likes to stay mentally occupied with things he can chew on or play with such as Benebones, Cow Hooves sponsor squeaky toys and min squeaky balls. Ducky would probably do best as on only dog as he prefers not to share his person, and he does like to chase the kitties so a cat free zone is recommended.

Ducky definitely prefers females and would probably be most comfortable in an all female household. He isn’t a fan of the male species at all. He has not been around young kids so would need slow intros to them.

He’s looking for someone who understands the breed’s sensitivity, loyalty, and need for consistent boundaries.

Ducky will thrive with someone who has experience with Chihuahuas and values a strong bond, respects his limits, and wants a tiny, devoted companion rather than a social butterfly. In the right home, he will be an incredibly loyal and loving best friend.
