Ducky's Story
Rescued February 2013
Age: 5 yrs
Color: Fawn
Weight: 17 lbs

Ducky is doing well in his foster home. He still startles a little at sudden noises, but has really settled into being a "house pug." In fact, he really likes it. Ducky had a dental a few weeks ago. The first thing the Vet noticed was that his jaw was broken in two places. This was a result of severe periodontal disease. He had all but 5 teeth removed. Two of the teeth had decayed so badly that there were holes eaten all the way into his nasal cavity!! The holes needed to be surgically closed. Ducky has healed from all of dental work and is feeling much better. Since then, he has gained some weight, which he really needed. Ducky absolutely loves attention from his people. Loves to cuddle and sit on laps. He is somewhat vision impaired from the neglect of his dry eyes, but that doesn't seem to bother him much.

Ducky was surrendered from a breeding farm when there were to many dogs for one person to take care of. Ducky was brought up to date on all his shots and has been neutered. His will need to get medication in his eyes for the rest of his life to prevent any further vision damage due to dry eye(this is common in pugs). He is adjusting quite well to living inside of a house after living in a dog house his whole life. He is working on his housebreaking. Ducky is actually started to seek out attention lately. The interactions have allowed him to find out how nice it is to be petted. Ducky is such a young sweet boy that deserves the best. He does fine with dogs, cats and kids but at this time a fairly quiet household would be best as he is still adjusting to his new life.

To fill out application go to
http://midmichiganpugclub.com/cgi/adoptAppForm.html
