Ducky's Story

Well, isn’t life just Ducky?

This sweet and precious girl is a petite 67-pound senior, age 11, who will melt your heart!

Ducky is crate trained but absolutely doesn’t need a crate and can be trusted alone. She loves kids, other dogs and even cats. She is good on a leash and loves to meet new people. Sweet little Ducky is afraid of thunderstorms so she would love some extra snuggles when bad storms move through.

Don’t let Ducky’s age fool you—she still has plenty of life and love to give. She’s the definition of a perfect Southern lady: calm, gentle, and happiest just being near her people.

Whether you’re watching TV, reading a book, or working out in the yard, Ducky is perfectly content to stay by your side. She rides well in the car and has lovely manners at home. Ducky has truly been the perfect foster: no chewing, no jumping, and no accidents in the house. She just wants to be near her people. If she’s ever in a different room, she might let out a few short barks to say she’d rather be with you—but they don’t last long.

This lovely older girl is ready to spend her golden years in a calm, caring home. Ducky may take her time hopping onto the bed or couch, but she more than makes up for it with her gentle, well-mannered nature—she doesn’t jump on people at all. Ducky enjoys keeping an eye on her yard—especially when squirrels make an appearance! She’ll happily run out to let them know it’s her space. She may also bark when she spots another animal or person through the window; just her way of saying hello.

If you’re looking for a calm, loyal companion who will happily be by your side, she might be your perfect match! Ducky, the perfect companion if you’re looking for a laid-back buddy to keep you company. She absolutely loves being petted and will happily soak up all the affection you’re willing to give. Every now and then, she’ll even plop herself right on top of you for some extra closeness—it’s her sweet way of saying she loves you. Ducky is incredibly gentle, easygoing, and full of quiet charm. A big fan of naps, she makes an ideal snuggle partner for cozy, relaxed days at home. She is a loyal, easy-going gal who will bring warmth and calm to your days!

Ducky will be available for adoption in RI on, or after, May 22nd, 2026

If you are interested in Ducky and are an approved adopter, please contact your Adoption Coordinator to be added to Ducky’s list.
