Drifter's Story

My name is Drifter (Pinky), an American Bulldog mix born in November 2020 as part of an unplanned litter. I was adopted as a puppy and returned due to no fault of my own. I was hit by a car and needed to have my leg amputated but I don't let that slow me down any. I love to be outside in the sun, next to my people on the couch or playing with my dog friends in a fenced yard. I have lived with other dogs, cats and children but a meet and greet is required before I go home to make sure we are a match. I was potty trained in my previous home but coming back to the shelter, I will need help getting back to a routine. I am not a fan of thunderstorms and can be cautious of new people but once I get to know you, I'm your new best friend. I have been neutered, vaccinated including rabies, microchipped, de-wormed, on heartworm prevention and tested negative for heartworms.<br/><br/><br/>Note: To adopt, you must live within approximately 100 miles of one of our adoption centers (Benld or Springfield IL), and be at least 18 years of age.

Benld Adopt-A-Pet's Adoption Policy

To adopt you must live within 100 miles of one of our adoption sites (Benld, O’Fallon or Springfield IL), and be at least 18 years of age. We require that you be physically present to make the final adoption arrangements. We also require that all cats be kept indoors, and that all dogs be kept or live indoors, with a secure fenced-in yard or pen for when they are outside, unless otherwise discussed and mutually agreed upon ahead of time. Failure to comply with any of these requirements may constitute sufficient grounds for our reclaiming the adopted animal. In order to adopt, you must first complete an Adoption Inquiry, and upon approval, an Adoption Agreement.
