They also receive regular heartworm medication, flea and tick treatment, and deworming medication. To help streamline the adoption process and ensure we have the necessary information about potential adopters, please follow these steps:<br/><br/>1. Understand the Difference: Submitting an inquiry or application on Petfinder is not the same as applying for the dog or cat. Inquiries provide us with minimal information about the potential adopter, making it challenging for us to evaluate suitability.<br/><br/>2. Submit an Application: We kindly ask that you submit an adoption application on our website to be considered for adoption. However, submitting an application provides us with the necessary information to consider you as a potential adopter.<br/><br/><br/><br/>TRANSPORTS<br/>——————————<br/><br/>We are based in Columbia, KY, and extend our services to other locations through our transport program. To ensure the safe and responsible transport of our animals, we currently only transport to these destinations: Greenwood, IN, Wilmington, OH, Washington, PA, and Mount Joy, PA.<br/><br/>To be eligible for transport, dogs/cats must meet specific criteria:<br/><br/>1. Approved Application: You will need to submit an adoption application for the animal and receive approval. Please also note that clicking the "I'm Interested" button on PetFinder is not an application. To start the adoption process, you need to fill out an application on our website.<br/><br/>2. Deposit Paid: A deposit must be paid as part of the adoption process.<br/><br/>3. Transport Contract Signed: The potential adopter must sign a transport contract, indicating their commitment to meet the dog on the designated date.<br/><br/>The 'Transport' label next to each animal's name signifies that this animal is available for transport, but please remember that this transport service is exclusively for dogs that meet the above criteria. Then, click on the profile of the animal you are interested in. The adoption fee for each animal is listed on their individual profile page.<br/><br/>Please note that the adoption fees listed on our website are for in-state adoptions within Kentucky. Out-of-state adoptions will incur additional fees, which must be paid upfront as deposits.<br/><br/>Additionally, the adoption fee listed on Petfinder includes the total fee, including transport. We strive to provide you with all the information you need right here. Please understand that due to the high volume of inquiries, we may not be able to respond to questions covered in this FAQ section.<br/><br/>1. Are your dogs potty trained?<br/><br/>Unless the dog's bio specifically states that they are potty trained, you can assume they are not. Many of our rescue dogs come from challenging circumstances and may not have been exposed to housetraining. Housetraining is typically the responsibility of the adopter.<br/><br/>2. Do you transport to other locations?<br/><br/>Currently, we transport to Wilmington, Ohio, Greenwood, Indiana, Washington, PA, and Mount Joy, PA.<br/><br/>3. Is this cat/dog still available?<br/><br/>If the cat or dog is listed on Petfinder and does not have an "adoption pending" tag on the website, we are still accepting applications. However, please be aware that we often receive multiple applications for each animal.<br/><br/>4. How long does it take to hear back about my application?<br/><br/>It can take up to 10 days to receive a response from us. If you do not hear back within this timeframe, please understand that we may have chosen not to move forward with your application.
