He's the perfect combination of playful and affectionate—hell race around the yard with the cutest zoomies, then happily curl up beside you convinced he's a lap dog.<br/><br/>Drako is house trained, crate trained, and knows basic commands like sit, lay down, and kennel up (especially if a treat is involved!). He absolutely loves treats, chew bones, and toys, and keeping his mind busy helps him be his best self. Hes a smart dog who enjoys learning and would thrive with continued positive reinforcement and professional training.<br/><br/>Because of his size and enthusiasm, Drako is looking for a home with confident handlers who understand large, strong dogs. He walks nicely on leash most of the time, but he becomes excited when he sees other dogs and can pull or lunge if another dog reacts to him first. He can also be startled by things like bikes and scooters. Drako tends to mirror the energy of the dogs around him—calm dogs help him stay calm, while reactive dogs can cause him to become reactive as well.<br/><br/>At home, Drako has done well with friendly medium and large dogs. He has shown interest in small dogs and would do best in a home without them. He has also found busy adoption events overwhelming, where the combination of crowds, unfamiliar dogs, and constant activity brought out behaviors that aren't representative of who he is in a normal environment. A quieter home where he can settle into a routine will allow his true personality to shine.<br/><br/>Drako currently lives with cats and would love to play with them, but they don't appreciate his enthusiasm. Because he enjoys chasing running cats, we feel hed be happiest in a cat-free home.<br/><br/>He's wonderful with people and absolutely loves attention. His biggest challenge is that he greets everyone with enthusiastic jumps, so children should be at least 8 years old simply because of his size. His foster has noticed he's naturally gentler around her 8-year-old grandson, showing that he understands when he needs to be more careful.<br/><br/>Drako is fully vetted, neutered, healthy, and ready to find a family committed to helping him continue learning. Like many dogs who may not have had much structure early in life, he benefits from clear boundaries and consistency. Hes occasionally mouthy during play and may gently place an open mouth on your hand, but he does not bite. With guidance and continued training, this behavior continues to improve.<br/><br/>Drako would love a home with:<br/><br/>A securely fenced yard where he can run and burn off energy.<br/><br/>Daily walks and plenty of enrichment with toys and chew bones.<br/><br/>Confident adopters who can continue his training and provide consistent leadership.<br/><br/>Children 8 years and older.<br/><br/>No small dogs, and preferably no cats unless they are dog Savy. <br/><br/>If you're looking for a loyal, goofy, affectionate best friend who will make you laugh with his zoomies and then snuggle up for the evening, Drako just might be your perfect match. Please note that we cannot hold dogs for any reason.<br/><br/>Please only apply if you are ready to meet and welcome a new companion into your home within five days of approval.<br/><br/><br/>Breed and Age Information: Unless the puppy was born in our care, we cannot guarantee the breed or age.
