Yes, but please keep in mind that they must be taught to respect the dog’s space, belongings, and food.
• HOUSEBROKEN? NOT 100% YET. As a dog rescued off the street and transitioning from living on indoor tile/ outdoor dirt surfaces in Mexico, they'll need time and patience to adjust to a new environment, but most of our dogs adapt to a potty routine within 1-2 weeks with consistent training.

🐾 Meet DRAKO 🐾

Drako spent his days in the plaza in Chapala, darting between tourists and locals, begging for scraps, dodging kicks. He and another street dog would play together—chasing each other across busy roads, weaving through traffic like it was a game. Cars would honk. Brakes would screech. But when you're hungry and alone, you don't think about danger. You just survive another day.

One afternoon, another dog attacked him, leaving a deep gash on his upper lip. He had no one to tend to it, nowhere safe to recover. When a woman finally caught him and brought him inside, Drako was covered in fleas and ticks, the wound on his lip still raw and painful.

But even hurt and scared, there was something undeniably hopeful about this scruffy little terrier. Like he'd been waiting for someone to finally see him.
With treatment, the wound healed. The parasites were eliminated. And Drako's personality absolutely exploded. This dog who'd survived by his wits on the streets turned out to be one of the most affectionate dogs you could meet.

"He just loves being around people," his foster says. "He wants all the attention—cuddles, belly rubs, just sitting next to you. He thrives on human company."

Drako is energetic in the best way. He loves his zoomies, racing around the patio with a toy in his mouth, that white and tan body moving at full speed. But his absolute favorite thing? Fetch. He'll bring you a toy and wait with his whole body vibrating with anticipation. Throw it and he's off like a shot. He could play like that for hours—it's exercise, quality time with his person, and pure joy all rolled into one game.

He's also wonderful with other dogs. He plays with his canine housemate constantly, wrestling and chasing and sharing toys. Having another dog around seems to make him even happier, gives him a playmate when his humans are busy.

What Drako wants more than anything is to be loved. He wants someone to spoil him—scratch behind his ears, let him curl up on the couch next to them, tell him he's a good boy. After a year of scrounging for food and dodging traffic, he's ready for the soft life. The safe life. The life where he matters to someone.

He's good with kids, good with dogs, and would make an excellent companion for an active person or family. He doesn't need marathon runs, but he would thrive with daily playtime and light exercise. Someone who works from home, or has a yard where he can burn energy, or is committed to regular fetch sessions would be perfect.

Could you be the person who shows Drako that the streets are behind him forever—that he'll never have to beg for food or dodge cars again, because he's finally, truly home?

*************************

📝 Ready to apply?
