DRAGON's Story

I was surrendered to the shelter when my previous owner could no longer care for me. I am a very handsome boy and everyone is trying to go slowly with me and help me adjust to my new surroundings. Notes from my foster friends and adventure buddies: Dragon is such a handsome and sweet boy. He takes a little bit to warm up to you, but once he does he is excited and playful! He likes to sniff his surroundings, so he pulls a bit on a leash, but never tried to run or pull too hard! Even though he’s not the biggest cuddle-bug, he loved to sit calmly right next to me against my leg. Dragon is such a good boy & will do great in a loving home! Dragon is a curious and sweet. He is very easy to connect with, and he immediately bonds with people. He is a curious boy who loves to investigate, and he does pull on the leash. He is a strong pup, but he does respond well to redirection and treats. He is very capable of loose leash walking: he just needs time! He is very responsive to his name. Dragon is trusting and loving and deserves a home with positive vibes and kind people. He even won over my mother, who is pretty wary of pit bulls due to a negative past experience. He's a diamond in the rough! Dragon completely stole our hearts. From the moment we met him, he showed just how gentle, sweet, and easy to love he is. He has such a calm, kind demeanor that makes you feel instantly comfortable around him. He can be a little shy at first, but it’s the kind that just melts away with a bit of patience and kindness. He did amazing with activities, whether it was going on walks, playing, or just exploring, he was engaged, well-behaved, and clearly enjoys being part of whatever you’re doing. At the same time, after some fun, he was more than happy to curl up right next to us on the couch, leaning in for cuddles and soaking up affection. He really was the best of both worlds, playful when you want it, and incredibly snuggly when you need it. You can tell he just wants to be loved and included and it’s so clear that he deserves a home where he’ll be cherished. Any future owner would be incredibly lucky to have him! Dragon is a sweet, sweet boy who seemed to favor my husband (thinking he might have a slight preference for men- but was very sweet with me and I’m a woman). He wanted to crawl up in the front of the car but did well being redirected to the back seat. We had him see cats through a baby gate and he did one big bark and tried to get in there- unclear if it was play or prey drive. But he’s a love. Really enjoyed hanging out with him! Very lovable! I hope he finds the best home, he is so sweet and absolutely the best family dog! We went for a walk at Occoneechee Mountain and then walked around downtown Chapel Hill! He came with us to get Canes and Playa Bowls and all the workers loved him! He was so, so sweet! Can’t say a single bad thing about him! He loves to play and walk around but also loves to snuggle and give kisses! Dragon was the sweetest dog ever. He cuddles right up to you and is so go with the flow. He can be energetic if you want to play with him or he is completely fine to just cuddle and sleep with you all afternoon. He has a calm demeanor and we never heard him make any sounds even towards other dogs!!! He is truly the best. He can truly be a human’s best friend. He just wants to be loved and once you have his trust he will cuddle right up to you! Never have to worry about him barking or scaring people.
