Dozer's Story
IMPORTANT - HOW TO APPLY: If you're interested in meeting Dozer, you need to first submit an application on our website: winonahumane.org/adopt. Our Canine Director will then contact you to set up a time to visit (our building is operating with scheduled visits). Email with any questions about Dozer or his adoption process!

Personality description:
You couldn’t ask for a better companion than Dozer: a distinguished older gentleman who’s young at heart and ready to become friends for life.

When Dozer’s former owner sadly couldn’t care for him anymore, Dozer made his way to Winona Area Humane Society. In no time at all, he’s effortlessly befriended every person he’s met thanks to his jovial temperament, treat motivation, and irresistible charms.

Dozer came to WAHS fully potty-trained with his basic skills down. He displays great leash manners and is always up for mid-walk photoshoots together – he’s quite the model, eagerly enjoying any opportunity in the spotlight.

As a younger dog Dozer was around other dogs, but he hasn’t interacted with them directly in quite some time. His ability to have a canine friend will depend on the individual personalities and guided, monitored introductions. He’s quite interested in smaller animals, so cats are likely not best for Dozer to live with.

We picture Dozer in a relaxed home, where he can enjoy his daily exploration walks and then relax to his heart’s content. He’d be a great addition for a family with older children (he’s not spatially aware around younger kids). As long as Dozer’s loved, comfortable, and has dedicated people to bond with (and get all the belly rubs from), he’ll be the best buddy imaginable.

Additional bio info: male, Olde English Bulldogge, approximately 8 years old and ~50lbs, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, neutered
