Dozer's Story
MEET DOZER!

Seriously... look at this face!

When Dozer came to Potter’s Angels Rescue after being abandoned, he was unsure of the world around him. Since then, he’s been slowly learning that life can be pretty wonderful when you have someone willing to give him the time and space to figure things out.

Dozer isn’t the kind of dog who wants everyone he meets to immediately reach for him. In fact, he’s much more comfortable with people who don’t force an interaction and simply allow him to approach when he’s ready. Give him that choice, take the pressure off, and you’ll be amazed at how quickly he begins to warm up.

And once he decides you’re one of his people... he REALLY wants to be your person.

Dozer is incredibly affectionate with those he trusts. He loves cuddles, kisses and being by your side, and he wants to be involved in whatever his person is doing. He’s looking for HIS person—someone who will understand that his trust is something to be earned, not demanded.

And now that he’s feeling more comfortable, we’re seeing more of his personality every day... including ZOOMIES! He’s still perfecting those, but watching him discover that he can actually have fun is pretty darn special.

What we know about Dozer:

• Warms up quickly once he feels safe and comfortable
• Extremely affectionate and loyal once you enter his circle of trust
• Looking for a person who wants a true one-on-one bond
• Would prefer someone who is home more often than not
• Would likely do best as an only dog or with a calm, friendly dog given time to adjust
• Met a cat and thought it was pretty boring
• Still working on his manners and learning how to appropriately channel his excitement
• A home without children would be best
• Neutered and vaccinated

Dozer is one of those dogs who unravels slowly. Every day we see another little piece of the dog he’s becoming, and there’s no telling how much more he has to give.

He doesn’t need to be everyone’s dog. He’s looking for his person and some stability in his life. The person who understands that sometimes the best way to build a relationship with a dog is to simply give them time to choose you.

And when Dozer chooses you? You’re going to know it.

If you’re looking for a sweet, affectionate pittie who wants to be your sidekick, snuggle buddy and occasional zoomie machine, Dozer might be your guy.

So get off Tinder. Come meet Dozer instead. He’s looking for his forever person.
