Douglas's Story
AN INQUIRY FROM PETFINDER IS NOT AN APPLICATION! READ THE ENTIRE POST FOR INFORMATION HOW TO APPLY.

Please note: Douglas is not hypoallergenic and does shed.

Meet Douglas! Douglas is a 4 month old shih tzu/something really cute mix puppy. He currently weighs about 10 pounds, but is still quite the growing pup. While we expect his full grown weight to be under 25 pounds, we can not accurately predict that, so if you need a pup guaranteed to be a specific size, he is not the pup for you. Douglas and his littermate arrived in rescue after they were surrendered their family could not properly care for them. They have since been raised in loving foster homes (they are not in the same foster home) and are thriving. Douglas is still very much a puppy and learning all of his life skills, so he will need a family that is up for that long term - which means house training, leash training, learning what to chew and not chew, continued socialization and positive reinforcement. His foster mom says: Douglas is a delightful puppy with a zest for life. Extremely curious, he is eager to explore. He's not just fun but he is sweet and ready to learn. With boundless energy and occasional goofiness, he would be great for a family. He is learning what and what not to chew and is doing well with his house training on a schedule. He is still a puppy though and there are accidents. Douglas is always ready for a cuddle and will brighten the life of his forever family.

Douglas is neutered, up to date on vaccines, on flea and heartworm prevention and microchipped.

Douglas is fostered in the Orlando area and his adoption donation is $450. If you are interested in applying to adopt Douglas, please visit www.floridalittledogrescue.com to read the adoption process and complete an application! Please note that emails simply asking "Is this dog available" will not be returned, as applications are worked in the order received and availability largely depends on when you apply:) Please also know we do not adopt out of state! Thank you!
