Meet our smiling Dougie!!<br/><br/>Dougie is a 15lb 6yo yorkie. He is neutered, chipped and up to date on vaccines. <br/><br/>Dougie had an owner surrender that could no longer care for him due to the owners health and a lack of assistance. This sweet little guy had been home bound for almost 2 years. <br/><br/>He was severely overgrown and matted as you can see in the photos and he patiently sat for 3 hours letting us remove the knots and shave him down for a fresh start!<br/><br/>Dougies vet visit went well- he is a healthy boy. <br/><br/>He has a anterior luxated lens in his left eye that has been there for some time. We were advised that removing the eye is the best course of action as it is painful and he has already lost most of the vision in that eye. <br/><br/>His right eye is absolutely fine. <br/><br/>We are planning on removing the left eye in May so we would like an adopter who is able to bring him to our vet in Stamford for the surgery (we are committed to covering the cost) and one who is comfortable with post op care of an enucleation. <br/><br/>Dougie will look very strange until the hair grows back over the area - then you will likely forget that he is missing an eye. <br/><br/>He is such an amazing dog- perfect for any home- and with other dogs or as an only. He is so easy and affectionate.
