Doug-Boston, MA's Story
Doug is a 4-year-old, 72-pound male Dalmatian with a big heart and lots of love to give. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, house-trained, and leash-trained. He knows obedience commands and tricks, rides well in the car, and gets along with both dogs and cats. Doug loves cuddling with his trusted people, snuggling with his favorite toys, and burrowing under cozy blankets. Once he feels safe, his sweet and affectionate personality shines through. Although he is still settling in and learning to feel comfortable in his surroundings, he has already shown how quickly he can build trust with a loving person.

Doug is looking for a patient, understanding forever home. He can be fearful and anxious in unfamiliar outdoor situations and needs someone who will help him build confidence at his own pace. He can be wary of strangers, too. He has recently started anxiety medication recommended by a behaviorist to support his emotional well-being. A calm, predictable environment, positive encouragement, and continued support will help Doug feel secure and thrive. His behavior around children and other animals besides dogs and cats is currently unknown.

Doug deserves a chance with someone who sees beyond his fears and recognizes the loving, cuddly companion he can be.
