He is an active, curious puppy at that perfect stage of still-puppy adorableness while also being house-trained, crate-trained, and sleeping through the night without a peep.<br/><br/>He loves to snuggle with his foster family's kids, play with their dog, and meet all the people (though he can be shy around tall men until he gets some positive attention from them—then it's all good vibes!). He does great on a leash and is very polite when meeting new dogs. However, be warned that on walks, he can get a little sidetracked by squirrels and bunnies!<br/><br/>Doug is quick to learn from corrections, isn't destructive in the house, and has all the potential to make an amazing companion.<br/><br/>Doug is a 7-month-old mixed breed rescued from a high-intake shelter. This dog's adoption fee is $300 and includes up-to-date vaccinations, microchip, 4DX testing, and neuter. Doug is also tested with other dogs, children, and potty and kennel trained. He is not tested with cats. Pending approval, your application is valid for 1 year, and you will be eligible to request a hold on an individual animal for the Saturday adoption event. The hold does not require that you take the animal home, but ensures you get to meet and make an adoption decision prior to other applicants. Also pending approval, you will be able to acquire foster home contact information, so you inquire on personalities of specific animals.<br/><br/>We do offer midweek private adoption appointments for approved applicants pending staff, foster home, and vetting schedules. Because we are 100% foster-based, private adoption appointments are only offered for individual animals. (If interested in viewing multiple animals at one time, we encourage you to attend our adoption events!)<br/><br/>Please note, adoption applications are processed within 1–2 business days.
