Doug's Story
If you’re looking for a dog with personality, charm, and just the right amount of chaos…. Meet Doug.

Doug is the definition of goofy—and he proudly owns it. With his oversized paws, floppy ears, and expressive little face, he has a way of turning even the simplest moment into something funny. Whether he’s perched up like a tiny guard dog or glued to your side with his nose practically touching your leg, Doug just wants to be part of whatever you’re doing.

He absolutely LOVES sniffing everything in sight, going on car rides, chasing birds, and patrolling the yard like it’s his full-time job. Walks are a favorite, especially when paired with his curious nature and sense of adventure. At home, you’ll find him playing with his foster brothers, “fishing” for leaves or bugs in the pool, or happily being held like a baby (one of his top-tier favorite activities). Exploring new places and situations? He’s all in—as long as he’s got his people nearby.

Doug is still learning a few things, like not pulling on the leash during walks, building confidence when meeting new people, and staying calm around new dogs. He’s a work in progress in the best way—eager, curious, and always improving.

When it comes to manners, Doug already knows quite a bit. He understands “no,” “off,” “here” (and comes right to you), his name, and “enough” when he gets a little too excited or barky. He’s house-trained and does great in a crate or playpen for sleeping and eating, making him an easy addition to a structured home.

At the end of the day, Doug’s biggest goal is simple: to be included. Whether you’re relaxing on the couch, heading out for a drive, or just moving from room to room, he’ll be right there with you—loyal, curious, and just goofy enough to keep you smiling.

To adopt, please fill out the adoption application, and we will call you. https://thearc-ca.org/adoption-application-pet-rescue-coachella-valley/
