Dottie's Story

Hello there, I’m Dottie! I’m a mixed-breed gal who is around 2-3 years old and 52 lbs. I have spots on my ears, amber colored eyes, and rear dew claws. I was found roaming with a lab at a rehab center in southern Ohio, so my breed mix is a mystery. My friend and I ended up going to the shelter. Another shelter in Columbus took the lab, and I stayed another month. Then PAWS took me just in time when the shelter was full.

I love getting attention from people and would probably be fine with anyone, including kids. I do well with other dogs of a variety of sizes. My only request is that if I am sleeping in a human bed at night, no other pesky dogs come bother me. I also met a cat and guinea pigs and wasn’t too interested in them. I do well walking on leash and am house trained and not destructive when left alone. I am left alone loose in the house during the work day and do just fine. Sometimes I even get to go to college with my foster owner and hang out with college students all day! I get slightly anxious in the car or when a human leaves me, but the worst I do is whine a little at first. I’m learning to get more comfortable. I am pretty chill energy-wise but I’m down for going for a walk or hike.

If you think I might be a match, please apply and I will be happy to meet you! Every PAWS dog is loved, vetted, and ready for a fresh start
