Dottie 's Story

Meet Dottie!

Dottie is a beautiful young girl who is finally ready for her own happily ever after. After raising her puppies and sending them off to their own foster homes, this sweet mama is ready for her turn in the spotlight.

Dottie came to rescue as part of a neglect case while pregnant. She gave birth to her puppies in the shelter, but when they were just three days old, Puppy Mill Rescue Team was able to bring the little family into a warm and loving foster home. There, Dottie finally got the chance to relax, care for her babies, and experience kindness and comfort.

Now that her puppies are growing up, Dottie is enjoying learning how to be a dog herself. She loves playing fetch with her stuffies and has already learned “sit” and “down.” She’s a very smart girl who enjoys learning and wants to please her people. The vet estimates she is around 1–2 years old.

Dottie is also loving the nicer weather and enjoys going for walks, exploring all the new smells, and soaking up country life. She’s curious about the world around her and enjoys watching the horses and meeting new friends along the way. She’s been sweet and affectionate with children and she was unfazed by the bold barn cat at her foster home.

When Dottie first arrived, she was very thin and is still working on gaining a few healthy pounds, but she’s thriving in foster care and her personality shines brighter every day.

If you’re looking for a gorgeous, affectionate, and smart companion to join your family, Dottie might just be the perfect match. Included in her adoption fee is: microchip, heartworm test, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, and her spay scheduled through the rescue. Puppy Mill Rescue Team 's Adoption Policy
ADOPTION POLICIES The Puppy Mill Rescue Team’s dogs are placed into adoptive homes within 60 miles of the foster home. We have foster homes in Rochester, NY, Buffalo, NY, and Macedonia, OH. When applying for a specific dog please check the profile to see where the dog is located. If you are not in this area and are looking to adopt, we recommend that you visit our Rescue Partners area or Petfinder.com to locate a rescue in your area. A legally binding Adoption Agreement must be signed at the time a dog is placed. The adoption donation varies and is included in the dog’s description on the website as well as in the Adoption Agreement. Adoption donations are not negotiable and payment must be made in full prior to or at the time of the placement of the dog. Please read prior to submission of an application for adoption. All potential homes must complete our adoption process which includes an application, meet and greet, home inspection and veterinary reference. Applicants must provide veterinary references if they have previously owned a pet and contact veterinary facilities to authorize release of their records to a PMRT representative upon request. Applicants who rent their homes must verify that they are permitted to have a dog and provide a landlord contact number on the adoption application. Landlords will be contacted in every case, no exception. The primary adopter must be at least 21 years old. We are solely committed to the dogs accepted into the rescue. We want to find them loving, permanent homes and go to great lengths to place the right dog into the right family. We reserve the right to decline any adoption based on what we feel is in the best interest of the dog.
