Dottie's Story

Named for the big black spot right in the middle of her noggin, Dottie is a stunning 7-month-old Dalmatian/Husky mix with the best of both worlds. She has the classic Dalmatian spots you know and love, paired with a thicker, ultra-soft Husky coat — but not so thick that she sheds excessively. She’s as beautiful as she is sweet.

Dottie has an extremely gentle nature. From the moment you meet her, you can tell she wants nothing more than a person or family to call her very own. She’s a tender-hearted girl who is simply desperate for love and comfort. Around strangers, she can be a little shy at first. Her favorite way to warm up? Curling up quietly next to you until she feels safe. And once she opens up, you’ll see the sweetest, most devoted girl you’ve ever met.

She absolutely loves to plant herself right in your lap for nap time or whenever pets are being offered. In fact, she’ll start wagging her tail the second she even hears your voice. Human connection is her happy place.

Dottie is slowly building her confidence with other dogs. She can peacefully coexist with them and does well with dogs, cats, and kids alike — she’s just currently much more interested in soaking up attention from her people. Toys and bones are still a bit of a mystery to her, but we truly believe that as she continues to feel safe and loved, she’ll discover how fun it is to just be a carefree puppy.

The good news? She’s already potty-trained and crate-trained — a wonderful foundation for her future family.

Dottie would thrive in almost any home that’s ready to welcome a soft, sensitive, loving girl into their hearts. What she needs most is reassurance, patience, and a family willing to show her that she is safe and cherished. Once she feels that security, she’ll blossom into the playful, joyful puppy she’s meant to be.

If you’re looking for a gentle soul who will adore you with her whole heart, Dottie is waiting to curl up right beside you.

If you’re interested in adopting, please fill out our application, and someone will be in touch with you shortly!
https://animalwelfarefriends.org/adopt/application/
