Dory's Story

Meet DORY, a stunning 4-year-old Cattle Dog/Shepherd mix with beautiful, one-of-a-kind markings and a heart full of love!

Dory is sweet, affectionate, and happy to be curled up in a cozy spot near her favorite people. She walks beautifully on a leash without pulling, loves treats and stuffy toys, and is polite and friendly with other well-mannered dogs. She has also been doing great with going to the bathroom outside, though some adjustment in a new home is always possible.

Having come to us from Texas, Dory found the transition overwhelming. Dory will need time, patience, and understanding as she settles into any new environment. Earning the trust of a shy dog is a special kind of reward, and Dory is a perfect example! As she grows comfortable with you, you'll get to see her confidence blossom and discover the joy of being someone she truly feels safe with. Once you're in her circle of trust, she'll greet you with excitement, trotting over with an excited little whine, ready for kisses and pets from her favorite people.

Dory would do best in a quiet home with a predictable routine and people who will let her decompress at her own pace. An adult-only home or one with older, respectful children who understand a dog's boundaries would be ideal.

Give Dory the time she needs to feel safe, and you may just find yourself with the most devoted companion by your side.

Apply to meet her @ sarlnh.org/adoptadog
