Dorothy's Story

At just three months old, Dorothy is already living life with fearless curiosity and joyful enthusiasm. This adorable Lab mix is equal parts adventure buddy and cuddle bug, always ready to explore the world by your side — and then curl up in your lap when the day is done.

Dorothy has a spirited personality that shines in everything she does. New sights, new smells, new friends? She's all in! Whether she's bouncing after a toy, discovering the backyard like it's a grand expedition, or trotting proudly beside you on a walk, her playful energy is completely contagious.

But beneath that adventurous spark is the sweetest, most loving little soul. Dorothy adores people and thrives on affection. She'll happily shower you with puppy kisses, lean in for pets, and snuggle close whenever she gets the chance. For her, love and fun go hand in paw.

As a young pup, Dorothy is ready to learn and grow with a family who will guide her with patience and kindness. With her smart Lab mix brain and eager-to-please nature, she's sure to blossom into a loyal, lifelong companion who's always up for the next big adventure.

If you're looking for a playful partner, a loving shadow, and a best friend to share life's journeys, Dorothy is ready to follow the yellow brick road straight to your heart.

PLEASE NOTE: All your current pets must be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and on heartworm prevention to adopt from Polka Dogz. We only adopt in Florida. All adoption fees go to help all the dogs in the rescue, some of which require extensive medical care. Thank you for caring for the greater good. Polka Dogz Pet Rescue's Adoption Policy
A homeless pet is more than one in a million—she's one in 2.7 million. That's the number of adoptable dogs and cats who are still euthanized each year in the United States, simply because too many pets come into shelters and too few people adopt. The number of euthanized animals could be reduced dramatically if more people adopted pets instead of buying them. When you adopt, you save your animal and open up shelter space for another animal who might need it. Polka Dogz saves these dogs from kill shelters especially the medically needy. We fix them up good as new and make them highly adoptable pets. Please support homeless pets and "adopt, don't shop, lives depend on it". We will soon have a property to call our own where people can volunteer, visit, and have a meet and greet with their potential new pet. Stay tuned.
