Dorothy's Story

Dorothy is a darling little 5-6 year old sheltie. Initially she is a little skeptical of people who try and approach her directly, but if you sit down, she is more than happy to trot over and see if you are going to be free with belly rubs or head scratches. She and Blanch came from a breeder and while Dorothy likes Blanch, she is not dependent on her. However, Blanch looses her mind when Dorothy isn't in sight and therefore we would prefer to place the 2 together to ensure Blanch lives her best life.

Dorothy had horrid teeth when she came into rescue so she had a major dental, spay, got caught up on vaccinations, etc. and now she is used to living in a home with lots of love and attention. Dorothy does have a little shuffle in one of her front legs, but there is no injury and nothing to do for it and it has gotten much better as she was a little plump when we got her and has shed a couple of pounds. Dorothy is very quiet for a sheltie and generally you don't hear from her unless she is getting after Blanch for something. Initially she was afraid of the door threshold so sometimes we have a little remedial training on how to get over that, but she catches back on in a quick minute. She can do stairs, but it is only a couple going in and out. She has yet to go up the interior stairs to the second floor. For that reason, we would prefer her to go into a ranch style home or one where she isn't doing multiple steps to go in and out. She does like to sit on the sofa with you as long as you are willing to pick her up and put her there. She is not a jumping girl by any means.

If you may be interested in giving Dorothy and Blanch a happy and loving home, please feel free to reach out to iPAWinc2022@gmail.com. They would prefer a quiet home with a low activity level as they are little golden girls.
