Dorothy Golden Retriever Forked River, NJ

None of us can imagine the kind of life a dog like Dorothy has lived. We see the photos and articles on what goes on in the worst of puppy mills, but we'll never know the terror and loneliness they've felt all their lives. We are so grateful that Dorothy was rescued from all of that, thanks to a good rescue that brought her to us recently. Dorothy is only about 1 1/2 years old and she's very under-socialized and fearful of everything new. Dorothy is gradually learning that life will be good and safe from now on, but she needs a special home that will help her adjust to the good life. She will need a home with another friendly, confident dog that she can learn from. She's fine with dogs, and with cats too. Dorothy is already doing well with walking on a leash and she's happy to check out everything new outdoors. She even made it through her first spa day ever like a real trooper!
