Dorothy's Story

Meet Dorothy!
Dorothy is a tiny firecracker with a huge personality! She is mischievous, wicked smart, incredibly energetic, and always ready to have fun. Her foster mom lovingly calls her a "Sour Patch Kid" because one minute she is sneakily getting into trouble, and the next she is being so sweet and affectionate that you cannot help but adore her!
Dorothy loves playing tug-of-war with her sister, running around outside, and soaking up as much attention as possible. Although she has plenty of energy, she also enjoys curling up with her people for some well-earned snuggles after playtime.
She is leash trained and making great progress with potty training. Her foster mom takes her outside every two to three hours, and Dorothy does a great job going potty outdoors. She also uses pee pads overnight and during downtime.
Dorothy does wonderfully with other dogs, enjoys being around children, and handles nail trims like a champ! Because she is small and can be very playful, she would do best in a home with children over eight who understand how to interact gently and respectfully with little dogs.
Dorothy's ideal family will be active, attentive, and prepared to keep a close eye on her when she is not safely resting in her crate--her curious mind is always searching for her next adventure! With continued training, plenty of playtime, and lots of love, Dorothy will bring endless laughter, entertainment, and affection to her forever home.

To apply to have your home considered for adoption, read about our adoption process or fees, and find out about interstate transport, please visit our website at https://longwayhome.org/adopt.

❤
Long Way Home makes no guarantees on breed--most animals we receive from shelters are mixed breeds.
