Dorothy's Story

Our gorgeous girl, Dorothy is a happy, outgoing one year old American Foxhound with a sunny personality and a heart that’s ready to love.

Dorothy came to our Connecticut rescue after an adoption placement with another rescue sadly fell through. When a northbound transport was headed our way, Dorothy tagged along — and it turned out to be exactly where she was meant to be. Now she’s ready for her true forever home.

At around 40 pounds, she’s that perfect medium size — sturdy enough for adventures, just right for snuggles.

Dorothy is friendly, playful, and people-loving, and she truly adores human company — including kids! She’s the kind of dog who greets everyone like a long-lost friend and brings a joyful energy wherever she goes.

With other dogs, Dorothy is a social butterfly. She happily solicits play, loves canine companionship, and would do great in a home with another dog or with plenty of opportunities to socialize. Playtime is her favorite pastime, and she approaches it with enthusiasm and good manners.

Dorothy is looking for a home where she can be included, engaged, and loved — a place with people to adore, dogs to play with, and room to be her happy, houndy self. If you’re searching for a fun-loving companion with a bright spirit, Dorothy might just be the one you’ve been waiting for.
