Hello there! My name is Dorothy, and I am a 3-4-year-old basset mix from Oklahoma. My two daughters and I road-tripped up to Wisconsin to find a better life. Now that they’ve moved out, I’m ready to relax in a new home. I currently weigh about 60 pounds. I adore food, so sometimes I try to get a closer look at what's on the counter. You may want to keep the food covered or put it away in the pantry or fridge. I currently live with another dog. We enjoy running around the yard together and napping on the couch. I would describe my energy level as low-medium. My favorite pastimes are napping, sniffing around the yard, eating, sleeping, and getting pets. When I want pets, I plop over and show you my belly. If this doesn’t work, I will whine until you pet me. Can you blame me? I like my lovins. I love to meet new people, but I may need to be reminded to keep four on the floor, as I get excited. I go to the kennel with a treat when my family goes out. It takes me a little while to settle down. I’m still learning to find comfort in my kennel. I prefer the warmth of my couch. However, I have had no accidents in the kennel and only one accident in the house. I do my business right away when I get outside. At night, I sleep in my bed next to my pawrents. I don’t make a peep until they wake up, which is my cue for good morning belly rubs. I’m a sweet, lovable girl looking for an adoring family with a comfy couch/bed. <br/><br/><br/>If you would like to be considered as a potential adopter for one of our great dogs, please go to our website- (SEE PINNED POST) and submit an application. Our application process includes landlord approval and vet checks. Please make sure all of your information is current and accurate, including a valid email address and phone numbers. Inaccuracies and/or incomplete data will delay and/or cancel your application. We strive to process all applications in a timely manner, but with the high volume of applications we are receiving, it is taking anywhere from 1-3 weeks. You may be contacted via email if there are concerns or questions. Once all of your information is reviewed and if your application is approved, you will be notified via email. Submitting an application and receiving an approval does not guarantee you will be adopting the dog you applied for. Once you move to the meet and greet process, you will be contacted by the foster family to further discuss the dog, and answer questions you may have, and if applicable, a meet and greet will be set up at our adoption center. Meet and greets are only set up with approved applicants, and we require all members in the household to be present, as well as any current dogs in the home. Meet and greets take place at our adoption center located in New Berlin. If you are proceeding with adopting a Lucky Mutt, we will require the dog to have a Martingale collar at the time of adoption, to ensure the dogs safety during the transition to a new home. <br/><br/>Current Adoption Fees Are:<br/>$425+tax for puppies to 3 years old<br/>$375+tax for ages 4-7<br/>$275+tax for ages 8 and up<br/>Bonded pairs vary<br/><br/>The adoption fee covers spay/neuter, up to date age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, general deworming, heartworm test, (if over 6 months) and a certified veterinary inspection. Please be aware, listed dog breeds are based on information provided and cannot be guaranteed. Submitting an application for a particular dog does not guarantee that you will be the applicant chosen, we receive several applications for each dog. Our adopters are picked based on the needs of the dog, and the home we feel with best fit based on your responses to our application, vet information and landlord requirements. Approved applicants not chosen for the dog you applied for, will be in active status for a period of six months. We encourage you to watch Petfinder, Facebook and our website for upcoming dogs.
