Doobie Jane's Story
Doobie Jane

Doobie Jane is a 35-pound Terrier mix born right before Christmas 2025, and she has the dreamy little expression of someone who has been staring at the same leaf for six minutes because it's doing something incredible right now.

She is sweet, affectionate, curious, playful, and deeply committed to experiencing the world at full saturation. A walk is fascinating. A new smell requires contemplation. A sunny patch of grass can become an entire afternoon engagement. Snacks are received with almost spiritual gratitude. Doobie Jane is simply very present. Suspiciously present.

And speaking of walks, Doobie Jane is an absolute delight on leash. She doesn't pull and will often happily stay close by your side, making her a lovely little walking companion. Once the adventures are over, she's also a big fan of enrichment toys, or anything that gives her something to do, keeps her occupied, and lets her put that curious little brain to work.

She loves people and has that excellent young-dog combination of enthusiastic exploration followed by the sudden realization that she would actually prefer to be horizontal and touching you. She's around 35 pounds, which is a highly convenient amount of dog for adventures, cuddling, and whatever philosophical inquiry is currently occurring near the refrigerator.

Doobie Jane does well with larger dogs and would enjoy the right canine friend. Smaller dogs are not her crowd, and cats are a no. No beef, no manifesto. She has simply curated her social calendar and will not be taking additional submissions from the feline community.

She's spayed, young, loving, delightfully peculiar, and still figuring out the finer points of domestic civilization. What she lacks in worldly experience, she compensates for with sweetness, curiosity, and a face that suggests she has just had a thought she absolutely cannot explain to you.

Born at Christmas. Named Doobie Jane. Permanently delighted by snacks.

Make of that what you will.

PLEASE READ BELOW:

If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting, the first step is to complete an application and read all of our FAQs:

https://www.takepawsrescue.org/adopt

Please note: Information to determine if you might be a match for one of our animals can only be found on our application.
*An inquiry, questions or introduction through Petfinder is NOT an application*
All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention.
For more on this, or for additional information, including the adoption process and our adoption fee scale for all our adoptable pets (including an explanation about Benefactor Dogs), please see our FAQs page:

https://www.takepawsrescue.org/faq

Any breed labels used by Take Paws Rescue, its employees/volunteers, or on vet records provided cannot be guaranteed.
