Doobie's Story

**If interested, please do not send us a message through PetFinder. Instead, please go to our website to fill out an application: www.projectpawsdogrescue.com. Adoption fee is $975.**

Meet Doobie! He is 5 year on SchnauzerPoodle mix. Doobie came to us as a local owner surrender. He came from a loving person who had to work long hours. They did not feel it was fair to Doobie and the second dog in the home so they chose to surrender them to rescue.

In rescue, Doobie had his vaccines updated, he was neutered, he had a dental, bloodwork that looked good as well as a fecal. Doobie did recently recover from a mild bout of pancreatitishe seems to love his low-fat foodone that he should remain on to help prevent another incident. Doobie does currently have Trupanion Pet Insurance and we would like to see him keep that.

Doobie does, however, bark at people when he is uncomfortable because strangers make him nervous. He barks and runs to his crate or barks as he is backing up to run away. His foster is currently working on that with him, as he does have a high pitched bark, but he will need an adopter with patience to help him gain confidence.

That being said, Doobie is crate trained and housetrained. He does not have separation anxiety; he can be left home alone in his crate without issue.

Doobie lived with another female dog in the past and is currently with another little female dog in his foster home. He does receive some comfort from the other dogs but would also do well as the only dog.

Doobies ideal home would be a small quiet family, one or two people in the home. We think shared walls could be a problem when company comes over but not completely out of the question, depending on the tolerance level of your neighbours. He is not barky unless there are strangers directly in the home. A fenced-in yard would be fantastic but not a dealbreaker. We would love an adopter who is willing to continue his training and who sees the value in pet insurance.

Doobie is an overall sweet sensitive boy who can be very affectionate and loves to tag along for outings with his person. He loves to go for car rides and is a fantastic buddy on your day-to-day errands.

If you're interested in adopting or learning more about Doobie, please submit an application!
