Personality | Super sweet and happy! Murphy has been working hard learning to trust people again and boy has he come a long way! Once Murphy gets to know you, he will love you and become your new shadow. Hes full of affection and kisses, especially when you spend time with him on his level..the floor. Murphy truly shines when he has another dog around to play with and learn confidence. Murphy is young, so his shy and timid nature is only temporary, and he will definitely be a loyal and loveable pup with a little time. Progress is made everyday and his foster says hes a completely different dog in just a week and a half! Murphy is an old soul for such a young pup, spending most of his day resting and relaxing. He has been known to play with toys and balls by himself when fosters are busy and the other dogs are napping. Story | Dumped in Marshall, Texas. Other Dogs | Great with other dogs! Murphy absolutely adores other dogs and finds comfort when they are around.Cats | Young enough to do well with kitties with proper intros! Children | Young enough to do well with kind, respectful kiddos. Would love lots of snuggles and pets! Training | In progress. Each foster works with their pups individually. All puppies are working on crate training, potty training, leash training, and basic commands. Murphy IS potty trained. He knows that outside is the appropriate spot for doing business and will whine if he needs to go. He has been left free roam at night in fosters bedroom and has done wonderful. Murphy prefers to sleep on a fluffy dog bed, and will stay there all night. He has recently spent the night snuggling next foster on the bed, but does not get into the bed willingly, and prefers to sleep on his dog bed or where the other dogs are sleeping.Murphy is a quick learner and has mastered the dog door in his foster home! He currently sits for treats and is gentle when taking them, although still learning not to steal treats from others. Murphy has been left free roam in the house up to 3 hrs so far, while fosters were away, in the care of his doggie foster sisters. He was a perfect gentleman! Leash | Too little to leash walk, but will learn with time! Our rescue follows No Paws on the Ground" (NPOG) as a safety protocol for young puppies, primarily used by veterinarians, shelters, and rescues. It means that an unvaccinated or partially vaccinated puppy should never be allowed to put their feet on the ground in any public or communal area where other dogs or animals may have been. These babies love to play in secure yards, and be snuggled and held on family walks.Activity Level | Moderate/High. Typical puppy who loves to play, nap, repeat!Health Notes | Healthy and Happy :)Thank you! Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $575 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year old, $525 for 1 - 6 years old, $475 for dogs 7 - 10 years old, and $350 for 11+ years of age. Purebred dogs regardless of age are $625. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, transportation to Colorado, and supplies while in foster care (that currently average over $750 per dog).Meeting Dogs | Foster dogs may have meet and greets by appointment to approved applicants only. To become an approved applicant - please complete the application process. We will not respond to emails about animal availability or allow meet and greets without an approved adoption application on file. Please Note | Available dogs are updated as soon as possible and we do our best to keep it up-to-date, but occasionally dogs shown may become unavailable without notice due to a pending adoption. We can not guarantee that a dog you wish to adopt is available by the time your adoption application is submitted, processed, and approved. Your application is good for one year from the date of applying for any dog as long as it is a good fit for your family and your lifestyle.We encourage you to put in an application even if you don't see your new family member currently, as once you are approved, we can place you on the waiting list for first priority on the selection of the dogs we do bring in. That means you can often meet a dog upon transport arrival and adopt before they even make it to this page!
