Donna's Story

She was tied to a tree. She lost the person she loved most. And somehow, Donna still believes her happily-ever-after is out there.

This sweet senior Doberman mix has been through more heartbreak than any dog should, yet she remains one of the gentlest, most loving dogs you’ll ever meet. With her graying face, soulful eyes, and heart full of love, Donna is simply looking for someone to call her own.

Donna is wonderful with people of all ages, including children. She loves leaning into her humans for affection, resting her head against you, and being part of the family. She’s house-trained, crate-trained, quiet in the home, and still gets excited for her daily walks.

Donna would do best as the only pet in a calm home where she can soak up all the love she has spent her life giving to others. She doesn’t ask for much—a soft bed, a caring hand, and a promise that this time, it’s forever.

If you’re ready to give a deserving senior the happy ending she’s been waiting for, Donna is ready to meet you. Available for foster, foster-to-adopt, or adoption.

Adoption fee is $140

Email: dogs@almosthomefoundation.org

Almost Home Foundation's adoption requirements:

1) Be at least 21 years of age

2) Have the consent of all adults living in the household

3) Have approval from the residence owner

4) Have valid ID with current address

5) Be approved by Almost Home Foundation as a suitable adoptive home

6) Live in the suburbs surrounding Schaumburg (Illinois Residents only)

*** Please note that Almost Home Foundation accepts only cash, Zelle, or checks for adoption fees; we do not accept debit or credit cards.***

We think she would be best off in a home without cats or dogs.
