Domingo's Story

AN INQUIRY FROM PETFINDER IS NOT AN APPLICATION! READ THE ENTIRE POST FOR INFORMATION HOW TO APPLY.

Meet Domingo! Domingo is a 1-2 year old male chihuahua mix and he weighs about 8 pounds. Domingo arrived in rescue when his previous family could no longer care for him. He has settled into his foster home but he would love a forever family to call his own. His foster mom says: Domingo is a surprisingly mellow young pup! He's a bit timid at first, but will warm up soon and isn't skittish- he's just submissive. You can pet him, hold him, and pick him up soon after meeting, as long as you move towards him slowly. He'll likely lay down, or roll over on his back (he LOVES belly rubs)! He enjoys being outside and sitting in the sun with you, frolicking a bit with other pups - but mostly, he's an indoor guy. He isn't a fan of walking on the leash but with time and patience, I'd imagine he'd get the hang - he just isn't really much into doing anything involving being led, so if you wish to walk him, he'll need guidance. Mostly he loves lounging- but he enjoys momentary zoomies here and there before he chills out. He's pretty quiet - he only tends to bark when someone comes over to visit. He doesn't chew on things, either- he's a very good boy! BUT- he's a SHOE THIEF! He'll literally gather up any stray shoes and either move them, or put them on the sofa/chair with him. He does NOT chew them- he just like to collect them! It's really funny. He's potty trained on a schedule and holds his bladder well! He needs to go outside a few times a day, but you just have to make sure he goes when you take him out He loves being near you and will come close and give you kisses if you let him - especially in the big bed, where he definitely expects to sleep. He's a great cuddler at night! As for other pets- he gets along great with dogs, mostly ignores cats- and if you have dogs he will want to be near them and do what they do, although he hasn't shown particularly playful tendencies.

Domingo is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped and has had his teeth cleaned.

Domingo is fostered in the Orlando area and his adoption donation is $375. If you aer interested in applying to adopt Domingo, please visit www.floridalittledogrescue.com to read the adoption process and complete an application! Please note that emails simply asking "Is this dog available" will not be returned, as applications are worked in the order received and availability largely depends on when you apply:) Please also know we do not adopt out of state! Thank you!
