The Dawg Squad's Adoption Policy
The first step in our adoption procedure is to fill out the Dawg Squad Adoption Application. The reason for our application is twofold. First of all, there are many types of dogs, personalities and subsequent requirements. As a service to our dogs and potential adopters, the application helps us ascertain which dog and home would be most suitable. Furthermore, introduction into a new home can be a traumatic event for many dogs and if not done properly may present challenges for the dog to adapt to your home. Obviously the last thing we want is the dog to harm other members of your family or chew up your place. We want to make sure it has a very good chance of becoming a permanent, happy member in your family. Therefore, it is important to identify potential problems before they arise. With that being said, please answer all of the application questions as completely as possible. If a question does not apply to you, then just enter “n/a” as the answer. We need everything to be filled out on the application since incomplete applications cannot be processed and will be deleted. Once we receive your filled application, one of our volunteers will contact you, your veterinarian, and your references, and then make arrangements for a home visit. If things look promising enough, then you are well on your way in forming a lifelong relationship with your new pet! WE ONLY ADOPT TO HOMES IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA The minimum adoption donation for all dogs is $400.00.
