Dolly's Story

https://www.ildoberescue.com/adopt/plus-dogs/dolly/

The biographical information provided is correct to the best of our knowledge while the animal is in our care or includes what may have been provided by a previous owner. We strive to be honest and accurate, but animals can change their personalities and behavior when they settle into a new home. IDR+ makes no guarantees based on the information we observe and provide.

Meet Dolly!

Dolly is a very senior Papillon and is likely over 10 years old. We’ll never know her exact age because she was found as a stray. What we do know is that this tiny girl has a whole lot of love left to give.

Dolly arrived at her foster home a little confused by all the changes, but it didn’t take long for her to settle in and show everyone her true personality. She has completely come out of her shell and is an absolute joy. She is incredibly sweet, loves her people, and is happiest when she can follow them around the house. Most of the time she can be found napping, but every once in a while she gets a burst of energy and zooms around like a much younger dog — and it is absolutely adorable.

Being an old gal, she can’t see or hear perfectly anymore. She does a good job navigating her surroundings, though, and she does not try to go up stairs on her own. Her forever home will need to be stair-free, or have a secure barrier to prevent her from accidentally falling down a flight of stairs. If there are stairs she needs to navigate, she will need to be carried.

She is housetrained, loves snacks, and is wonderful with other dogs, cats, and gentle children. Honestly, Dolly is just about as easy and sweet as they come. Dolly isn’t looking for a busy or adventurous life anymore. She wants a cozy home, soft places to sleep, people to follow around, snacks to enjoy, and someone who will appreciate what a special little old lady she is.

The first step in meeting our adoptable animals is the breed/species-specific application at www.ILDobeRescue.com. We do a vet check, landlord/association verification, and home visit to ensure a permanent placement for our wonderful animals. Thank you for considering rescue! We look forward to working with you. IDR+ is a network of foster homes; therefore, we do not have a location to visit. The first step in meeting our adoptable animals is the specific application at www.ILDobeRescue.com for a Doberman, Plus dog (non-Dobe), or cat. Approved adopters are then directed to our foster homes.
