Dolly's Story

Meet Dolly — The Gentle Golden Doodle Learning How to Enjoy Life

Dolly is a six‑year‑old, 60‑pound golden doodle who is finally getting the chance to experience what a real home feels like. After spending her early years as a breeder dog, she has come into rescue and, with the help of her foster family, is learning the joy of relaxation, comfort, and companionship.

This sweet girl takes a little time to get to know her people, but once she trusts you, she happily accepts pets, treats, and quiet affection. Dolly is still learning how to walk on a leash — the world is full of new smells and distractions — so she needs someone willing to guide her gently, much like a puppy learning everything for the first time.

Dolly loves to lounge beside her family and then stretch her legs with a good run in the backyard. Because she’s still learning commands like “stay,” she will need a fully fenced yard to keep her safe while she explores and plays.

She takes time to warm up to both people and dogs, but once she feels comfortable, she will seek out affection on her own terms. Dolly enjoys relaxing throughout the afternoon and evening, but she also loves running and playing with her human friends or canine companions. She has shown some mild toy protectiveness with other dogs, so a home that can manage that gently and respectfully will be ideal.

Dolly is learning her name, basic commands, and how to navigate life as a beloved pet. She needs patience, consistency, and a family willing to help her continue blossoming into the wonderful companion she’s meant to be.

If you’re looking for a gentle, loyal dog who just needs a little time and love to shine, Dolly may be the perfect match.

Her spay will be covered by the rescue's preferred vet when she is able to be spayed in 2-3 months. Meet and Greets will be held in the Hamilton, Ontario region.

If you are interested in learning more about Dolly, send us a message or fill out the application form below:

https://form.jotform.com/201853389773265
