She is fun, has a big personality, and still has plenty of energy. She keeps busy with playing tug of war, fetching , going for walks, and finding the toys with the squeakers and engaging those squeakers!

Dolly has had an increase in activity and a decrease in people food after her owner recently passed away. So far there has been a loss of 3.5 lbs. Go Dolly! She should still loose a few more for better health.

She was very loved and I am sure spoiled by the woman who had her from a pup. Her Alabama vet office confirmed that yes Dolly is 13 years old but seems younger. She also was taken care of very well and properly vetted there since a pup.

Dolly is now looking for a home that once again can treat her like the princess she believes herself to be. Such a typical poodle attitude. From her time with a foster in Alabama and us here in Wisconsin we both feel she would be happiest as an only dog. In both foster homes she had issues co-existing with the more dominate female. Dolly apparently wants to be in charge. There really were no issues with our other three more mellow dogs or with the easy going male dog in Alabama.

Dolly has been with us since Dec. 6th and here are some things we have learned.
*She used potty pads in her past home but is going potty outside by ours. She did not even hesitate with the very cold temperatures we had. She has had no accidents in her crate while we are gone. For work days we have a friend let them out mid day.
*She is picky about food. She has been consistently eating kibble here. We are giving her Zignature brand Whitefish formula.
*She uses her voice quite a lot. Most of this is directed at our one dog. The barking may make her living in an apartment an issue.
* She likes to give kisses and sit on your lap being massaged.
* She goes up a flight of steps easier than down. A few steps are no issue.
* She likes car rides unless she is crated. If crated be ready for lots of protest barking.
* She sleeps quietly overnight in a crate with her bed in it. She is right next to my side of the bed. If we did not have other dogs we would most likely not need the bed to be in the crate.
*Since here she had her nails trimmed and a bath with using the blow dryer after and tolerated this well. She came well groomed so this should be something she is used to. She actually likes the bath and does better than all of our dogs. When rinsing off with the shower head she closed her eyes and leaned into the stream of water. Smart girl.
We are hoping the best forever home comes along soon. Dolly is ready to be your devoted and loving companion.

Dolly is fostered in Oak Creek. You will find more information, pictures and videos on this Facebook page.
